As a former Teach For America corps member and charter school teacher, my vision is to challenge students of all backgrounds to promote achievement. As a Latin teacher and scholar, I have experienced firsthand the benefits of a classical education. With my dedication to student empowerment and rigorous academic background, including graduating Summa Cum Laude from Columbia University and earning a fellowship to pursue my M.A. in Latin from the University of Michigan, I am ready to make a powerful impact on students outside of the classroom.
While I specialize in tutoring Latin and Greek and am familiar with a variety of textbooks, I am also skilled at preparing students for the SAT and GRE--particularly the reading and writing portions. Although I clearly have a deep passion for my subject matter, I have an even greater passion for student achievement that drives me to work relentlessly to obtain results. Over the past five years, I have acquired essential skills and experiences while teaching in secondary schools as well as at the college level, so I know how to challenge students effectively while providing the support they need to succeed. When I'm not reading Latin, I enjoy cycling and cooking.
I look forward to hearing from you and cannot wait to assist you in obtaining the most from your education!
