I have worked with children and young adults for nearly 10 years in both academic and non-academic settings, including extra-curricular activities, outdoor camps, and the classroom.
Having taught four years in a metro-Atlanta school district, I have first-hand professional experience educating elementary school students. I am certified in elementary education K-5 as well as special education K-12. As a special education teacher, I worked in the general classroom setting with all level of students as well as in the small-group classroom. Though I enjoy teaching all subjects, my strengths are in elementary reading, all levels of writing, and math. Because of my special education background I am knowledgeable in both subject content and research-based learning strategies. I am also trained in strategies tailored towards students learning English as a second language.
