As a native Houstonian, I am a proud product of the Houston Independent School District.
Many of my best childhood memories occurred within the walls of Herod Elementary
School, Sharpstown Middle School, and Lamar High School. I attended Texas Southern
University's honors program majoring in Biology and am now a graduate student at the
University of Houston-Victoria studying Biomedical Science and Film. My mother, a
small-business owner/educator and my father, an electrical engineer instilled the value of
education in me at an early age. I learned a lot of my teaching style from them; patience,
repetition, organization, and motivation to name a few. I began tutoring my cousins in
my youth who struggled with math, science, or english. In college, this continued as I
tutored underclassmen in the biological sciences, organic chemistry, algebra, and writing.
After graduation, I had a natural inclination to service students in the classroom as a high
school biology teacher for two years in HISD. Now, as I continue to pursue my academic
endeavors in graduate school, I wish to be able to tutor and share my unique experiences
with our youth in hopes of enlightening their perspective of academia and life in general.
I am fun loving, personable, and can relate to the younger generation through various
commonalities; school, sports, music, social media and more. I look forward to meeting you
and your child and taking his/her progress to the next level!
