My teaching philosophy can be best summarized as assisting the student to think for him or herself and helping them gain confidence in their academic abilities I focus on a holistic approach to problem solving and academics, and pay special attention to personalize my services to the individual student's needs and personality. I have been a private tutor for over 6 years. My first assignments were requests from classmates to assist them in Pre-AP Chemistry and Mathematics. I attended Texas State Honors Math Camp to advance my mathematical skills where I learned to collaborate and gained exposure to different ways of explaining and conceptualizing mathematical problems. I have also worked with teenagers as a residential camp counselor and as well as teaching a New York City Ballet dancer for an accelerated GED high school certification program. My vast international travel and academic background has enabled me to effectively adapt and strategize for a variety of courses and tests. I also assist students with college admissions counseling and preparation, as well as essay reading and writing assistance. I look forward to working with you to help you achieve your goals!
