I am expecting to complete my PhD within the year. I offer tutoring for English or AP English classes, and writing assignments for any class at any level, as well as SAT, GRE and GRE Literature preparation.

I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering with a minor in Mathematics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. With over three years of tutoring experience, I specialize in subjects such as Algebra 1 & 2, AP Calculus AB/BC, and SAT Mathematics. My teaching philosophy centers on adaptability and emotional intelligence; I strive to understand each student's unique learning style, whether they are visual, auditory, or "trial by fire" and tailor my approach actively to accommodate. I am passionate about mathematics, particularly algebra and calculus, because I believe it forms the foundation for future academic success in any STEM-related field, and I am dedicated to helping students build that foundation and being a mentor.
As a passionate educator with a Doctorate in Industrial and Systems Engineering, I have over 2 years of experience tutoring various physics subjects, including AP Physics C: Mechanics and College Physics. My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a supportive learning environment where students feel empowered to explore complex concepts. I strive to connect real-world applications to theoretical principles, making physics both relatable and engaging. I am motivated by witnessing my students' growth and success, and I continually seek innovative ways to enhance their understanding. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading about advancements in engineering and exploring new technologies, which I often incorporate into my lessons to inspire curiosity and critical thinking.
I am a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a Masters degree in Education and have been an Elementary and Middle School educator for over thirty years. I have worked with students in the inner city, suburbs, Appalachia, and Deep South. I love teaching and children, and have discovered my passion in tutoring students who are struggling in Reading and Math. I have taught children with learning disabilities to read, and coached students with dyscalculia in math and reading. I worked as a principal for the past eight years, so was working with students from Pre-K to 8th grade, coaching teachers, analyzing data, and tutoring individual students in math and reading. I have worked as a national park ranger in the past, so social studies and history are areas of strength. Students that I teach respond well to my teaching style and enjoy working with me. I believe that education is extremely important for children's futures and do everything that I can to help them be successful.
I am currently an adjunct faculty in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Washington State University Vancouver. In 2019, I received my second M.S. degree in mathematics at Oregon State University under the supervision of Professor Vrushali Bokil.
Hi, I'm Stephanie! I recently graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Biology, earning a 3.9 GPA. With three years of research experience and a strong background in chemistry, biology, physics, math, and engineering, I am eager to tutor STEM subjects from middle school through college levels. I look forward to simplifying challenging concepts, fostering a supportive learning environment, and helping students build confidence. I am committed to helping students find excitement in STEM.
I am a Seattle area math tutor in various subjects, including algebra, trigonometry, calculus and SAT Math test preparation. I graduated with a math degree from Stanford University, and am currently pursuing a PhD in history at the University of Washington. While new to Varsity Tutors, I have years of experience as a private tutor, as well as classroom teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant. For me, tutoring is very student-directed. My teaching style emphasizes flexibility and exploring the kind of learning most suitable to each student. My teaching style also emphasizes understanding how to use and apply formulas and mathematical properties in order to ease the process of memorization.
I'm a current PhD student in the history department at Georgetown University who is also an experienced instructor with Varsity Tutors. As a recipient of several degrees, the most recent being a BA in history from Hillsdale College and a MA in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies from Stanford University, I have long sought to make teaching my profession. Meanwhile, as a volunteer grade school teacher and a tutor with this company, I have many years' experience helping students reach their full potential. I am capable of teaching students in many subjects, including reading, mathematics, test prep, Latin, and especially writing, history, and literature. In practice, I am comfortable adapting to different learning styles and specific student preferences. Outside of my academic and career endeavors, I enjoy cooking, reading, and listening to and making music.
I am a premedical student majoring in biology and psychology attending Union College in upstate New York, as part of the 8-year combined "Leadership in Medicine" program with Albany Medical College. Since as early as elementary school, math has been my favorite academic subject, and most of my tutoring experience has been in tutoring math. I enjoy math of all kinds, from algebra to geometry to higher-level mathematics like calculus and statistics, and I find the problems to be like fun mini puzzles where there are different strategies to arrive at the correct answer. I hope to use my skills and experience with math to help clarify confusing concepts and give students the tools they need to solve complex problems. Outside of math, I am also proficient in essay editing and test prep (SAT, ACT, PSAT, AP). I have worked as a college admissions essay editor for over a year and edited essays for students who were accepted to top schools like CalTech, Northwestern, and Northeastern. I would be happy to share editing samples upon request. On both the SAT and ACT exams, I scored in the 99th percentile, with a perfect score on my ACT. It would be a rewarding experience for me to play a part in helping you maximize your academic potential.
I'm especially passionate about math and science and work in a research lab at Oregon Health and Sciences University. I love helping students do well on tests such as the ACT, SAT, SSAT and the HSPT especially. I am attending Johns Hopkins University and majoring in Biomedical Engineering.
I am most passionate about tutoring is mechanics since this is usually a student's first exposure to synthesizing physical theories with mathematical concepts. Overall, I take a conversational approach to tutoring where I try my best to relate the material to the student's life experiences while drawing more conventional analogies that are proven to make the concept click.
I am a certified HR professional with 10 years of experience across a wide range of specializations including employee relations, leaves of absence, multi-state payroll operations, and legal immigration. I am a graduate of Yale University, with a passion for helping students gain admission to their college of choice through admissions essay review and feedback.
