About Wenatchee

Wenatchee, Washington, is most known as the "Apple Capital of the World" due to the city being filled with apple orchards and also hosting an annual Apple Blossom Festival. The Columbia River flows along the city's eastern border, and a large, mountainous national forest lies just east of Wenatchee. The city itself is also covered with great terrain beloved by local hiking enthusiasts. Just over 30,000 residents call the city home, which is about 100 miles west of Seattle.

Local students are served by the Wenatchee School District #246. The two public high schools in the city include Wenatchee High and Westside High. If you are falling behind in your classes while attending one of these high schools, online tutoring in Wenatchee is one way to potentially get caught up in your classes or test prep. There are also two private high schools in the city, including The River Academy and Cascade Christian Academy. If you are attending one of these private schools and want to keep your GPA high, Wenatchee tutoring lets you receive private instruction, either in-home or online, for your class or test prep today.

Session Summaries by Tutors

Wenatchee, WA tutoring
The student is showing a great deal of understanding in his Algebra class. This session was spent reviewing for a test. The student was working with systems of equations involving methods of substitution, graphs, and replacement, as well as systems work problems. The student displays a great understanding of the material. I suggested for him to practice showing all of his work, while taking his time and checking the solutions at the end of each problem. The student received a 100% on his last homework assignment covering this material. The student has a test in geometry. He displays a good attitude towards learning the material and is willing to put in effort. The student would greatly benefit from longer sessions working through practice problems relating to concepts being taught in class.

The student and I went through her homework in factoring quadratic polynomials, and utilizing the factorization of quadratic polynomials to apply the zero product property and solve for a variable. We worked through her process of checking for the factorization of the polynomial, and quickly verifying whether or not the trial worked. She became adept at a technique and was finding the correct factorization slightly faster with each problem. After some inquisitive reminders, she demonstrated the understanding of how to apply the zero product property after factoring to solve for the variable.

Today was our first session and it went very well. He has a test this week for his math and he has many of the concepts down. We reviewed and went over proportions, unit rates, graphing, ratios, and word problems. I also shared some tips for completing math problems. We ended our session with a talk with Dad and shared some homework ideas that I hope will help boost his grades immediately.

This session was entirely devoted to solving systems of linear equations with two variables. First the students learned the substitution method and then they learned the elimination method when the substitution method would have lead to fractional coefficients (they both now prefer solving all systems of equations using elimination).

The student and I worked on some math he had (geometry) which he didn't need my help on at all. He really understands what he's doing in math perfectly. We went over some word roots for a quiz the student has, which again he knew very well. Finally, the student worked on a creative project he had to do about a book he read in class. I think the student has improved vastly and is ready to succeed on his own.
