Tutoring review by Sharnika in Walla Walla, WA
The student and I worked on varying aspects of fractions today and took a math assessment test. She had difficulty with adding fractions and turning fractions into decimals. I will be sending over worksheets to her mother to help her in these areas. I would like to see these completed worksheets and the steps that she takes to get the answers and we will go over each problem individually. Even if they're wrong, I want to see where her thought process is.

Tutoring review by John in Walla Walla, WA
He was to take a test today, so he had two packets of review problems to work through. We had time to complete his two review packets. He did well overall, and by the end of the session he seemed to be back in the swing of things.

Tutoring review by Terri in Walla Walla, WA
The student had a few more math problems in her packets. She tried some long divisions by herself and it took her 20 minutes. I walked her through each step. We played a game with 2 & 3 multiples. She did better but memorizing is difficult. I suggested that they would work over the weekend with the flashcards.

Tutoring review by Andy in Walla Walla, WA
The student and I reviewed algebra questions that will show up on his test on Wednesday. He initially struggled with combining and simplifying radicals, exponents, and polynomials with 'i,' but he quickly figured them out after a few demonstrations. He learns better if I work out a few problems before he tries tackling new problems by himself. I've invited him to reach out between our sessions for minor questions on homework throughout the week.

Tutoring review by William in Walla Walla, WA
The student was concerned with raising his scores in both the verbal and quantitative areas, as his previous GRE fell short of his desired scores. In verbal, he initially struggled with some of the more difficult vocabulary words, but he was able to do well with reading when diagramming passages rather than reading them through. I indicated that I preferred to do essays after he becomes well-practiced at diagramming sample arguments. He showed decent facility with the quantitative. We will focus on geometry going forward.

Today, we focused on the student's math homework about factors. We went over different rules to help find factors. We also went over ways to find common multiples.
