Today's lesson with the student went really well. He seems to understand many concepts now, and can do many problems with minimal help from me. We will continue to review decimal addition and subtraction. He was very receptive towards the material and was eager to learn more. I taught him some neat tricks with cross canceling and that seemed to help him a lot. He has a test on Wednesday, so we are both working towards him doing well on the test.

The student missed a class, so we went over what she missed to catch up. We went over what roots were and how to find them as well as simplifying and understanding what each quadratic equation meant. We did the problems her teacher suggested, as well as comparable ones from her textbook. I feel she should be caught up on what she missed in class.

We covered a wide range of topics, primarily focusing on concepts related to confidence intervals and significance (hypothesis) testing. We discussed type I/II errors (for a second time), p-value interpretation, confidence level interpretation, hypothesis testing framework, and a few other elements.

Tutoring review by Ka Ching in Snoqualmie, WA
The student and I went over a couple of formulas, and I advised her about several concepts that she can go over and practice over the weekend, which include converting decimals to percentages and vice versa and simplifying fractions and long division by hand. She is very eager to learn and open to ask questions about things she does not understand. It's great working with her.

Tutoring review by Benjamin in Snoqualmie, WA
Today we went over the formula and geographical interpretation of average rate of change as applied to points on the curve of a graph modeling a situation. Then we went over the concept of first degree polynomial factors of higher degree polynomial functions by comparing it to prime and composite numbers. The student seemed confused at first, but by the end of each exercise she had a good grasp of the concepts.
