Tutoring review by Michael in Peralta, NM
The student and I went over the new lessons covered in her class. The subject topics included chords, secant and tangent lines through a circle, and understanding the relationship between them. She will not be allowed a formula sheet for her test, so I made a small sheet of paper with the relationships written out for review beforehand. I made this in an effort to help her review and visualize the relationships.

Concepts covered: Multiplying 3 digit decimals and division algorithms. Areas of improvement: pacing herself through problems, checking for accuracy, long division. The student's attitude was very positive. She was very receptive to feedback and was very persistent with mastering each problem. Strategies used: KWL, retracing your steps, fact fluency. I instructed her to go over previous problems to check for accuracy and practice her times table. She was a joy to work with, and I am very optimistic about the progress she is going to make.

Tutoring review by Jesse in Peralta, NM
We focused on reviewing fundamental concepts and definitions (postulates, angle properties, etc.). Specifically, we connected these more abstract concepts to concrete examples. This seemed to lead to a better overall understanding of key concepts. We ended the session with tips for better studying and homework practice. It seemed that the student benefited from a more concrete approach to some of the abstract geometric concepts.
