Tutoring review by Alissa in Kiryas Joel, NY
The student did very well on his chapter 7 test yesterday, but didn't have much time to work on chapter 8 on polygon angles and areas. We went through parts of all the sections together to look at key concepts and address any potential problem areas. He plans to get through the rest of chapter 8 before our next meeting on Monday and then will take the test on Wednesday.

Tutoring review by Junior in Kiryas Joel, NY
Today, the student was presented with real-world linear equations. First, the word description given had to be written in the form of a linear equation. Then the x and y-intercepts had to be determined. The next step was to graph the equation using the intercepts. Finally, the results of the graphing were to be interpreted in terms of other possibilities and for estimation. Each problem was explained in step-by-step form. His major difficulty was to correctly formulate the linear equation in terms of x and y. For strategies, a number of examples were shown as models for such problems. He was encouraged to use the calculator for basic arithmetic skills. The student has a positive outlook on his forth-coming test.

Tutoring review by Allison in Kiryas Joel, NY
We broadly looked over all of the student's material for the semester, and it all was really easy for her. We went ahead and worked on two recent worksheets she also had on Boyle's and Charles' law. We discussed periodic trends and physical/ chemical properties, but it really looks like the material is easy for her and that she is more than ready for her exam. We will meet again once she has specific questions and/or the final study guide prep.
