We began the session with about 10 minutes of multiplication practice. He did some flashcard work then took the quiz and got 65/65 correct. He completed it in 7.5 minutes. On Thursday we will see if he can lower his time while maintaining his accuracy. We also did his homework which was on finding equivalent fractions. We worked on equivalent fractions for 1/2, 1/3, 1/5, and 3/4. I gave him several strategies for finding equivalent fractions. He was very successful.

The student reviewed the different aspects, from finding the percent of a specific number, to finding the number that is a specific percent, converting decimals to percent, fractions to percent and the various combinations. She did well and was able to complete her practice problems.

Today we learned the vocabulary of the family members and relatives, 5 instruments, and how to separate the words when you are writing and there is no more space to continue the sentence. The vocabulary of the family was learned while doing a family tree exercise, the instruments by looking for them in a dictionary and then drawing them, and the separation of words doing exercises of it with other instrument names.

Tutoring review by Vickrant in Edmonds, WA
Today I met with the student to prepare him for his test tomorrow. The teacher provided a study guide complete with a page of challenge problems that were to be covered by the test date. These problems contained many of the finer intricacies of algebra. These problems included working with negative exponents, finding LCD, adding and subtracting fractions with variables, and rules regarding multiplying monomials and polynomials. With most of the trick problems, he was able to understand the reasoning behind my explanations well. Once each trick or nuance had been revealed, he had an epiphany regarding how to solve each problem. I am confident in his ability to learn the material and succeed in this course.
