I am passionate about helping students because I love watching them have that "light bulb" moment. I also believe that a student who does not like school can begin to like school if they get the proper help and guidance in subjects. I have worked with K-3 students and 5th graders. I just graduated college and I am now a licensed teacher. I can tutor elementary math, science, reading, writing, and social studies. My favorite subjects to tutor are writing, reading, and science. These were my favorite subjects when I was in school, and they help lay the foundation for other subjects. If a student is a kinesthetic or visual learner it is also fun to work with experiments or little projects with them to help them grasp concepts.

I am from Houston, Texas. I have always had a love for learning. This was evident when I was young and still exists today. I am the guy in the group who plays random trivia games to learn about new stuff that I have never been exposed to before.When I started college at Dillard University I discovered that I also have a deep love for teaching. I discovered the ultimate way to assess if you really know something is whether or not you can teach it to someone who may not be familiar with the subject matter. This a great challenge, but I enjoy it. I love to see the look on a person's face when they "get it." I have also found that I too learn new things about the subject that I may not have known before. This is a rewarding experience for me.The subjects I am most passionate about are Chemistry and Biochemistry. I am most comfortable with these subjects, since they were my majors in undergraduate school. Eventually, I hope to be a college professor full time. I value knowledge because once it is attained it cannot be taken away from someone. If a person decides to use it, it becomes even more valuable.

I have been a tutor for 6 years now and I really enjoy it! I would like to continue tutoring with Varsity Tutors! I am fun to work with, available evenings and weekends and also during the day 7 days a week. I look forward to helping students achieve academic success!

I graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelors of Science in Education. I specialize in all science subjects grades 7-12. I have several years of experience as a teacher as well as 4 years working as a camp counselor. My goal is to increase my content knowledge in the areas of science so that I can continually improve as a science teacher. I especially like the physical sciences like chemistry and physics.
