I am passionate about figuring out how to help students find their strengths. I enjoy helping students create goals and self-motivation. I have worked with students of all ages. Most of my experience is with kindergarten and first grade students. Currently, I work with high school students. I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Special Education from Radford University.

I am currently a Special Education Middle School Math teacher. I have worked in the Public Education system for 23 years. I love teaching math to my students and helping them to enjoy a subject that most students don't like. I hope that if I get the opportunity to work with you that I can help change your mindset about Math. I hope to if not instill a love for Math but take away the self-doubt and fear of the subject. I am currently an administrator at the secondary level, but prior to this I worked extensively at the elementary level as a teacher, an administrator, and an instructional specialist. I consider myself a lifelong learner and I love to help students love and understand. I believe that every child can learn; it is the job of the educators to determine how to help the child connect to the content in order to learn.

I am a recent graduate of the University of Virginia where I earned my Masters of Education in Administration and Supervision. I previously attended Old Dominion University where I completed coursework in counseling and in education. I am a certified elementary teacher and have worked in education for more than 25 years. I've tutored and taught students in all subjects from grades K - 7 and have worked with students with various learning disabilities.
