Hello Parents and learners! My name is Mrs. Hearn. I have fifteen years of highly varied teaching experience including Title 1, international, urban and gifted education. I received my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration of English. I also have my Masters of Science in Literacy Education and a certification in Special Education. I am a goal-driven, enthusiastic, creative and dedicated educator. I love working with students of all ages and fostering a passion for learning. I've taught a variety of subjects such as reading, writing, social studies, science, math, and ESL. I've also worked with students on life skills from critical thinking, problem-solving, organization, positive behavior and a goal driven mindset. I strive to motivate students to develop a good character through discovering their abilities, inner strengths and their passions. I am the most passionate about helping students to have a love for reading. Books are amazing and magical. They take you on so many adventures, so having the skills to be great reader are essential. I also love helping students to become better mathematicians. I love how there are so many possibilities to arrive at a solution. I am a firm component of education in how it will overall improve anyone's quality of life. I have always told my students if you listen carefully, you will learn something new every day.
