- I enjoy working with students who require IEP's or 504's, and am experienced in working with ASD, ADHD, anxiety, dyslexia, and more.
- I am currently going back to college for my bachelor's in psychology, and intend to take a fifth year for my Michigan teacher's license.
About Me
As a mother to an incredible middle schooler, I am oh-so-familiar with the toll that homework frustration, social stressors, and disappointing grades takes on a student (and their families!). I am passionate about alleviating as much of this pressure from my students as I can, and experience so much fulfillment when we have "lightbulb" moments. As a neurodivergent individual with ADHD, I feel that I have an ability to understand and empathize with students who are also "not wired" for the classroom. I have been in teaching roles for the last 18 years, and found that my greatest interest is taking on the challenge of finding each student's learning style. I plan to pursue additional certifications to gain as many skills as possible to assist my clients.
Hobbies & Interests
The first thing you should know about me is that I am an old soul, and a bit of a nerd! The majority of my interests and hobbies reflect this. I love jigsaw puzzles, game shows, hiking, beach-combing, arts and crafts, continuing education, scary movies, and trying new foods. I am happiest when I am home with my family (cats included!) or on my horse.
