About Me

I am a graduate of the University of San Francisco, TESOL program. I have a MA is TESOL. Additionally, I'm a two time graduate of Colorado State University, where I obtained a BS in Psychology and a MS in Organizational Leadership. I have taught ESOL and VESL/IET classes both in the U.S. and in Saudi Arabia and Morocco. I'm currently an ESOL Instructor for a community college in the Northwest. In this role, I have taught academic level ESOL classes in reading, writing, listening and speaking, as well as specialized VESL/IET classes that lead to certification, and most recently, a technical writing class for first year students. Moreover, I am currently on a committee that assesses ESOL Scholarships; and finally, a committee that will evaluate incoming writing samples to determine placement in English classes. The subjects I tutor include: all ESOL skills, English, and academic/college level Writing/Reading. While living in Morocco with family, I decided to teach for an educational service. There, I quickly realized that teaching was my true passion in life, so I returned to the states to volunteer and obtain my MATESOL degree. Since graduating, I went back overseas for an academic year for a VET college, and then returned to the Northwest to teach at a community college. I have taught at the same college ever since. During COVID19, I applied what I mastered in my degree programs by effectively teaching online/live through a combination of a popular video meeting platform and a learning management system. I have since returned to the classroom, but still teach some hybrid and online classes. I believe that I am here to serve and help students as they strive to reach their personal and professional goals.
