About Me

Until I started studying zoology in my undergraduate school, I was a mediocre student and could not connect what I read in books to what I saw in real life. I know how it feels to get poor grades and struggle with understanding what textbooks and teachers are trying to say. Studying something I loved made the biggest difference to me, and I loved zoology. I could make connections between concepts and studying was less of a chore. I ended up teaching myself how to study and these skills carried through to my other subjects. Now I am working on my PhD in Natural resources, something I did not imagine doing when I was in high school. I still remember things I heard or read about in high school,and it makes more sense to me now. The skills you develop just reading and trying your best to understand are skills no one can take away from you. That's the best part of learning - just trying can have beneficial results. Now I find it exciting to break down complex concepts into more relatable lessons. I am always trying to learn and teach myself new things, and I find that having practical experiences in baking, birding, building circuits, sewing have given me different ways to look at a problem. And I think using these experiences to redefine problems or concepts that can be difficult to learn is my greatest teaching strength
