About Me

I am a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University (Axe Em' Jacks). I received a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Kinesiology. I have also earned Standard K-12 Teaching Certificates in the areas of Special Education, Physical Education, and ELL (English Language Learners). I have years of experience teaching students according to their learning goals, IEPs (Special Education), and gaps in learning (1-2 grade levels behind). I also have years of experience teaching in Public School and clinical settings. My passion is to provide patience, care, and reinforcement to students that are significantly behind primarily in Math and Reading. I teach according to the learning style of each individual (visual, auditory, kinesthetic). I've always believed that building a good rapport with students and families is necessary to ensure success of a child. "We're all a vital part of this journey together." I like to provide a fun and engaging learning environment, because if a child is not engaged, then learning is not taking place. Nothing makes me happier than knowing that I was able to help a student master a skill that he/she didn't know how to do. I look forward to meeting/working with you soon.
