About Me

Grade Level Lead and classroom management experience has helped me develop and execute school wide systems and routines. Training teachers on curriculum design, blended learning, and implementation has been one of the greatest levers in ensuring high student performance across multiple classrooms. Due to this and well executed instruction, teams have improved student performance tremendously on both the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium, as well as the NWEA Measures of Academic Progress test through evidence-based lessons that allow children to apply skills through depths of knowledge. I have spent my 12 year career teaching students with special needs and general education in elementary, middle, and high school, while supporting my team in curriculum design that supports interdisciplinary applications for students with various learning needs. I have achieved these accomplishments through online platform management and data driven instruction that enhances personalized learning. My masters in the Science of Education (Special Education) from Hunter College has given me an excellent foundation to education that has allowed me to practice proper implementation of curriculum, school-wide teacher accountability, and effective instruction. I am dual certified in the state of New Jersey to teach grades one through 6 in general and special education. I have successfully instructed all grades, 1st through 12th, to both native and secondary English language speakers. As a special education teacher, I have had the opportunity to transform the lives of learning impaired, autistic, mild cognitively impaired, and emotionally impaired students. With proper vertical curriculum alignment, all children can achieve scholarly success. Lastly, I am also a college professor with experience teaching adults. My experience with college readiness standards provides me with unique skills to prepare and support students to and through college. I look forward to our partnership in the success of your child.
