About Me

PERSONAL: I am a mother of five (5) children and two (2) grandchildren. My husband and I are truly blessed. I try and wake up each day with a positive attitude. It helps that I have four framed pictures that say courage, perseverance, determination, and destiny to begin my day. I love to read, do crafts, and outdoor activities. MISSION: When I moved to New Mexico 17 years ago, I obtained employment in a school so I could work around my children's schedule. I surely didn't expect to fall in love with my job and have a burning passion to teach. So...at 37 years of age, I returned to college to get my degree in order to fulfill my dream...of being a teacher. I have been a teacher ever since. EXPERIENCE: I have taught Kindergarten, 9th and 10th grade, and 2nd grade. 2nd grade is by far my favorite. I am grade level chair and the liaison with the NM Public Education Department. I am a Level III teacher with National Board Certification. I also organize and participate in many programs and teams as well as collaboration meetings to enhance our school and curriculum. STRENGTHS: As a teacher I have a tremendous amount to offer both staff and students. I have a passion to learn and teach. I have an outstanding record of achievement and the ability to lead and motivate. I have a positive professional attitude with pride in personal performance and continuing education. I have the ability to transfer skills of creativity and organization to maximize student achievement and engagement.
