About Me

My undergraduate nursing degree is from Penn State University and my graduate degrees are from University of Phoenix. Currently I am working on my Doctorate in Education. I have worked as a staff nurse, clinical educator, trauma-flight nurse, nurse manager, Director of Nursing, nursing faculty, Nursing Program Chair at a university, and as a tutor. It is so important for nursing students to have a strong foundation upon which to build their nursing profession. In order to learn the material, students need to visualize the importance and the why's of what it is they are learning. Applying the content to cases and actual examples will allow a student to remember the content. Active engagement is key to learning. In order to be successful both the mentor and the student need to be actively engaged in the learning process. I have experience in group and individual tutoring. My areas I am most passionate about are the Foundations, Med-Surg, Advanced/Critical Care, Pharmacology, and Roles/Capstone courses along with NCLEX prep. Relaxation is necessary when studying and I love to be at the beach, watch and attend sports events, and work in my antique store.
