About Me

My teaching experience began as a 12-year-old when I began teaching the principles of Taekwondo and self-defense to over 100 grade school children and women for 7 years. Looking back at my 10 of practice, teaching was exponentially more fulfilling than earning my third-degree black belt, because as a teacher, I had the invaluable ability to plant and nurture the character, self-motivation, and tenacity that Taekwondo gifted me into the lives of others. Academically, I attended Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) for high school, where I established an unshakable foundation in math and science, studied Spanish for 3 years in an immersion setting, began dreaming in Spanish after one semester (and continue to do so), and volunteered at an orphanage in Guatemala. Attending the #2 public high school in America (ranked by Niche) allowed me to develop creative, out-of-the-box thinking that sprints towards challenges and ignites curiosity in others. Inspired to continue teaching in college, I taught physics and Restorative Justice to under-resourced 9th graders upon completion of my first year at Boston University. At BU, I pursued Comparative Literature and focused on English and Spanish language and literature, and studied abroad in Buenos, Aires, Argentina for one summer. I was always the go-to friend in my peer group whenever anyone needed a second eye at any piece of writing, whether it was a medical school application, an essay for class, or a piece of creative writing just for fun. I'll always remember when I made slime with my physics students during study hall to illustrate the principles of elasticity. I'm excited to continue creating special moments with my students so that they remain focused, engaged, and passionate about their growth. I'm equally equipped to serve students in a variety of subjects, ranging from Algebra to English to study skills, and I can honestly say that I'm equally fanatical about teaching all of them. I'm passionate about teaching the humanities, social sciences, and foreign languages because they've allowed me to expand my creativity beyond anything that I could have imagined, and I'm ecstatic to teach STEM subjects because I learned from my hands-on, real-world education at IMSA just how thrilling these fields are. Overall, I'm super excited to work with you and begin our growth journey!

Hobbies & Interests

Outside of teaching, I enjoy drawing, creative writing, playing my electric guitar, and tablas (traditional Indian drum) and FaceTiming with my 13-year-old brother.
