About Me
Before medical school, I worked for a year and a half as a biomedical engineer and research fellow in Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Children's Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha. I also have worked with the department of Pediatric Orthopaedics at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City in conjunction with the University of Missouri- Kansas City. I graduated with a bachelor of science in Biological Systems Engineering from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln, and I have minors in Biomedical Engineering and Spanish. I always try to make the learning process enjoyable for my students, and I always try to help my students learn to appreciate the subject content through real world applications. My previous teaching experience includes being a teaching assistant for Clinical Medicine and Osteopathic Manual Medicine, and I was a teaching assistant for the Biological Systems Engineering department for physics class (2.5 years) and Heat and Mass Transfer (1 semester). I am also an alumni of the Engineering Ambassadors Network, which is an organization that does STEM outreach with K-12 students to teach them about engineering and other science concepts, and how they relate to the world around them. In my free time, I enjoy various fitness activities, being outdoors, and reading. I also enjoy playing and listening to many genres of music!
