About Me

I am an experienced educator who loves working with students of all ages and abilities to help them reach their fullest potential and develop the confidence needed to succeed. My educational career began by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in early childhood education, followed by a Master's in teaching English/language arts grades 6-12, and a certification in TESOL. With these degrees, I have taught in both the private and public schools, with most of my teaching being done in my own academy, which I established at the request of several parents who wanted me to personally teach their children. Since 2008, I have successfully run and managed this academy, single-handedly teaching students grades k-11. I have also taught English 101 and 102 to college students, and extensively tutored at-risk teens and international students. I have taught every subject imaginable and have loved all student ages and abilities. However, my favorite subjects are English/language arts and history. I firmly believe in designing the curriculum to meet the individual needs of each student and allowing them to know success and mastery over each concept. I relate well to my students and value them as individuals, deserving of respect. It is my hope that I can impact each student for the better and help them know confidence as life-long learners.
