About Me

Bonjour tous! My name is Zack, and I'm a French tutor for all levels introductory to advanced. I studied French literature, grammar, and composition at UNC Chapel Hill and l'Universit Lyon III Jean Moulin in Lyon, France. My focus was mostly contemporary works, ranging from Baudelaire to Sartre. While in France, I worked in an Irish pub, where I developed my conversational French skills and upon returning home, I've worked as a transcriber for Measure Evaluation, a company devoted to improving healthcare information systems in Africa. In the past, I've coached gymnastics at TAG, and worked as a music instructor for both the Music Empowerment Club of UNC and a private studio. In teaching and as in coaching, I love looking for new approaches to engaging students in their learning and finding out what drives them to succeed. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy doing gymnastics, swimming, reading, writing, and playing the banjo and piano.
