About Me
I am pursing a degree in Biomathematics at Rutgers University and a career in medicine, so I have developed an appreciation for both math and science through intensive college courses in Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, and Algebra. I have scored in the 99th percentile on standardized tests, including the SAT and SAT subject tests in Math and Biology, and I have taught each of these math and science courses privately, at tutoring centers, and at public libraries to students of all ages and learning backgrounds. I choose to teach these subjects not only because of my knowledge of the topics but also because the real life application of the concepts are fascinating to understand. In the past, I have used the help and advice of professors and tutors to excel in my own studies. I see being a tutor as an opportunity to provide similar help and advice to fellow students. As a teacher, I employ the same learning strategy that has helped me throughout my education: I connect new topics to more familiar topics or objects. For example, the ideal gas law can be explained with a balloon and NMR problems can be explained with puzzles. Drawing these parallels has helped me retain information for longer, and I have noticed the same in my students. I also like to reinforce material with online simulations, demonstrations, and videos. In my free time, I enjoy sports of all kinds, basketball and baseball being some of my favorites. I also enjoy reading and writing, and I hope to publish a book and contribute to a news site one day.
Hobbies & Interests
I enjoy sports, exercise, reading, writing, and television.
