I am a two-time graduate of The University of Rhode Island (URI), earning my Bachelors degree in English, with a minor in political science, as well as my Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA). My first tutoring experience came as my stepbrother was newly arrived in the United States from China in 2004. He was 13 years old, and I was 19, but my family lived only 10 minutes from my university, so I was blessed to be able to help him learn English from the very basics, as well as preparing him for the TOEFL exam on his way to Boston Architectural College. I also spent time as a Mentor, Intern, and teaching assistant through a URI program called MTI (Mentor/Tutor Internship) at Cranston Elementary School (Kidventure program) and the Rhode Island Family Literacy Initiative in Pawtucket, RI at the Pawtucket Library. My best subjects to tutor are English, ESL/ELL, Writing, Essay Editing, English Grammar and Syntax, College English, High School English and High School Writing. In my spare time, I enjoy reading books, playing basketball, and watching all sports but mainly baseball.
