About Me

I am entering my 19th year as a public school teacher, grades 6 through 12. I have also been an assistant adjunct professor for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and as a distance learning professor for the same university. Prior to teaching I worked as an office manager in the executive field, and for 23 years I was responsible for all aspects of management for supervisors and business staff. I am also a former business owner. I am ESOL and Reading endorsed and have tutored disadvantaged youths in preparation for state exams. My greatest accomplishment was organizing a before and after school tutoring program for young adolescents and ESOL adult students at a local community center, and I was instrumental in developing and implementing a Career Education program by networking with local business partners to give presentations at the middle school level. I am dedicated to serving individuals, organizations, families, and other groups who wish to improve their English skills. I was born in Salzburg, Austria, and came to the USA when I was four months old. My father was active duty military; therefore, my formative years were spent at Ft. Sill, OK and Camp Darby, Italy, where I graduated from high school; however, I have been a long time resident of Florida. My hobbies and interests are that I enjoy traveling, exercising, spending time with my grandchildren, doing arts/crafts, and abstract painting. I have an art studio in my home and have showcased my art at several festivals.
