About Me

I have known that I wanted to work with students since before I can remember, but I did not always think that would be in a classroom setting. After a brief period as a creative writing/social work double major, I transitioned to pursuing a degree in elementary education. I now have a bachelor's and master's degree in education along with 4 years of elementary teaching experience. Tutoring has always been a part of my career, as I love the ability to work with students one on one and meet them where they are in order to help them meet their goals. Individualizing educational experiences is a strength of mine, and tutoring creates a great platform for that. It is amazing how much progress can be achieved in a tutoring setting. I am certified to teach early childhood through 6th grade as well as ESL for those grade levels, but I have experience working with students up through high school. It is my passion to partner with students and families in order to increase academic achievement and create happy learners. Learning should be interactive, individualized, and fun! Outside of teaching, I love to spend time with my husband and our 4 year old daughter. I also love to read, write, and stay active through running/hiking. I have recently started learning Japanese as a hobby of sorts and I am loving the intellectual challenge! It would be my privilege to come alongside you and help you to meet your academic goals.
