I first started studying psychology while attending the University of Groningen in The Netherlands and then finished my degree at the University of Oklahoma in the United States. I love studying the mechanisms behind how humans think and behave and how psychology is fundamentally linked to both the sciences and humanities. Besides psychology, I also focused on classes in professional writing, and I have been editing and tutoring writing since I was studying for my International Baccalaureate degree in high school. My favorite topics to tutor are psychology and writing because they are both multidisciplinary subjects and therefore flexible and adaptable to almost any situation. My teaching philosophy is built on what I learned studying psychology: everyone is different and thus, everyone learns differently and has different needs and goals when it comes to education. I try to be a tutor who helps create a unique learning environment to suit the necessities of each individual student. Tutoring sessions are a two-way conversation, and as a tutor, I try to facilitate the concerns of my student and give them the resources and guidance they require to meet their goals. I've been a world traveler since birth and when Im not tutoring, I spend my time writing and editing. My hobbies are reading, painting, swimming and searching for my next adventure. I love learning about new things and meeting new people, as well as getting to share my own stories.
