About Me

I am an experienced and certified educator who earned his bachelor’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Houston. I specialize in tutoring elementary Math and English Language Arts, including reading and writing. I particularly enjoy tutoring math concepts and bridging the discrepancy between concrete and abstract ideas/processes. I believe that every student has the capacity to learn. Often times, it is only a matter of determining how each student learns effectively to unlock missed potential. I listen, watch, discuss, and assess carefully to determine each student’s learning style. I like to keep tutoring sessions interactive and fun to maintain student engagement. I also ensure that students succeed to build self-confidence for sustained interest in the subject area. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out and playing with my senior boxer dog, playing guitar, drums, XBOX, being outdoors, and reading. I come from a big family and I was raised in different countries/cultures, so I have an appreciation for the different cuisines and cultures available in Houston.
