About Me

As an elementary virtual school teacher, I am eager to provide tutoring services to students of all ability and interest levels. I have been teaching virtually for the past four years and love the flexibility and creativity that can be found in an personalized, virtual environment. I am confident in providing personalized learning experiences that best support student learning needs, along with making each lesson engaging for the student. I am available to tutor virtually and would also be willing to meet with students in-person, depending on location. I have tutored and feel comfortable teaching a variety of subject areas but the areas that I am most passionate about are reading, writing, and social studies. I am a graduate of UW Stevens Point with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education with a minor in English as a Second Language. During my pre-service teaching years, I was heavily involved in tutoring opportunities and after-school homework assistance programs. I firmly believe that each student should have the opportunity to succeed with the support of their tutor, parents or guardians, and classroom teachers. This network of individuals, strong communication, and attainable goals are the key to success. I want my students to feel proud of their accomplishments after challenging themselves to attain their goals. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and participating in book clubs, yoga, walking my dog, camping, backpacking in different national parks, and fishing.
