In addition, the instructor should provide frequent, constructive, and individual feedback and should be readily available to students as they engage in learning. The instructor also contributes to the learning process by demonstrating mastery of the course content being taught. Instructors are learners as well, and should constantly strive to improve instruction and learning opportunities to increase student achievement. This involves collaborating with colleagues and participating in relevant training opportunities that enhance teaching and learning. It also involves frequent reflection of teaching methods and program selection. The instructor also engages in professional development opportunities that allow them to improve course materials and equipment and implement new educational practices and technologies as they emerge. An effective leader possesses the ability to relate to students and collaborate well with other faculty members. They participate in the development, review and management of activities relating to curriculum choice and decisions affecting the school. In turn, they make contributions that enhance the success of their students and the overall culture of the learning organization.
