About Me

I am currently an undergraduate adolescent mathematics education student student teaching in Spring 2016 at Seaford High School and Middle School. Throughout my years at SUNY Cortland, I have tutored mathematics in multiple areas. I have tutored college students struggling in mathematics courses, such as Linear Algebra, College Algebra, Calculus I and others. I have also volunteered at an after-school math program to help sixth graders with mathematics. Throughout my past semesters at Cortland, I have observed at multiple different schools, helping students in grades 9-12 with multiple different areas of mathematics. Throughout my years at SUNY Cortland, I have excelled in all of my mathematics courses with all in the A range. I always have had such an appreciation and love for mathematics and I love to spread this feeling to others. As a tutor, I feel it is crucial to always tailor to the student's strengths in order to help the student succeed. I believe in helping students to understand what they are doing to get them to understand the concepts rather than just memorize the information. I believe tutoring is such a rewarding experience for both the student and tutor because it is wonderful to see students realize and capture their true potential and I truly love watching students succeed. I love watching students work through a problem and, with my guidance, find the right answer and feel proud of their achievement.
