A teacher, journalist, and certified TESOL instructor, I have experience teaching and tutoring a vast array of students-- from younger students conjugating simple verbs to adult professionals seeking to improve their job interview skills and resumes.in addition to tutoring, I presently teach writing and pre-TOEFL to adults at American Language Communication Center in Manhattan. I am responsible for crafting and executing lesson plans, which I strive to make as engaging and effective as possible. Prior to teaching English I was a journalist and writer for seven years, contributing to publications such as The Village Voice, LA Weekly, and Minneapolis City Pages. These experiences honed my writing and grammar skills to the highest level in addition to fostering a love of language which I try to impart to my students. An enthusiastic and empathetic teacher, I look forward to utilizing my experience to maximize students' testing and critical thinking skills.
