About Me

I have more than 10 years of teaching experience in various institutions in China and the United States. My teaching experience started in 1993 when I was an instructor in Shandong Medical University in China. I taught biochemistry full-time for 3 years to undergraduate and graduate students. The activities include preparation of lecture, lecturing, office meeting with students, administration of exams and grading, and even starti of a class from scratch. I am highly praised by my students and supervisors. Even today I still kept the communication with many students. From 1996 and 2003, I was a PhD gradate student at the University of Missouri-Columbia. I taught biochemistry 1094 (Biochemistry Laboratory) as a teaching assistant. The activities are similar to my previous teaching. It is worth noting that due to my teaching excellence, I was awarded Donald K. Anderson Teaching Award in 1999 by my department. From 2009 to 2014, I was a MBA/Master of Statistics student at UCLA. I have taught Statistics 102c (Intro to Monte Carlo Simulation) and Life Science 3 (Intro Mol Biol) to undergraduate students. I went through the formal teacher training/certification process offered by UCLA. After my teaching, I usually got an excellent review from my students. He was well-prepared for each discussion class and presented the material well. and He is so into it and plus so kind. He has been very nice to everybody. Overall, I have enjoyed greatly teaching. I think I have two strengths that distinguish me. First, I am very concerned with my students learning. Seeing a students face shine after solving a doubts or question gives me great satisfaction. Second, with respect to the content, I like to approach the same learning points/issues from as many angles as possible. Therefore even before a student asks me question, I am already prepared.
