About Me

I currently teach 6th grade math in the Bronx. I have been tutoring since I was 16 years old. I have tutored a wide variety of math subject including but no limited to: algebra, geometry, and statistics. For me, the best part is rolling up our sleeves and working through any obstacle. I have been on both sides of the tutoring table, I know what it's like to struggle through the content and I am confident the best way to success is to dedicate time and energy. Everybody has their own way of learning, in order to be successful I want toIdentify how each students learns (visual, repetition, step by step)Identify and practice missing prerequisite knowledgeProvide appropriate support and practice for mastery and confidenceBased on my experience in tutoring and teaching, the best way to learn something is to be allowed to ask any questions on anything and work through it with one on one attention. I have seen what 10 minutes minutes of one on one instruction can do in terms of clearing up any misconceptions in my class. I graduated from SUNY College at Brockport in 2012 with a BS in Finance and minor in Economics. Currently I am enrolled in a Master's program to obtain my teaching credentials in 2016. My favorite subjects to tutor are algebra and calculus because the concepts can be applied to just about anything. Good skills in algebra lead to great skills in calculus where it gets fun to model and apply. In my free time, I like to watch and play soccer,basketball,flag football and swim.
