I am a student of Mathematics and I'm going into my third year of study. Math is more than just a subject in school to me. It is a way of thinking that helps people in their everyday lives. That concept is what drives me when I tutor. Formulas and equations have their use and value, but the critical thinking that can be gained from the study of math is much more important. I have had success in showing students from where the formulas come and encouraging a deeper understanding of the topic at hand. I believe education in STEM related fields is vital in our society with the steep advancements in technology, and all STEM fields require a solid understanding of Math.
