Michael
My entire career has been spent doing the two things I love the most: working with kids and reading books. Not everybody is able to be as lucky as I have been. For over 34 years, I have been in public education as a teacher and supervisor. My undergraduate years were spent at Seton Hall University, and I followed this by immediately obtaining my Masters of Arts in Teaching at what was then called Montclair State University. In addition to working in high schools in three New Jersey districts (Middletown, Old Bridge, and North Brunswick), I raised four children of my own. Even with this hectic schedule, I found time to become a published author, and I co-wrote a book about baseball (one of my passions) which was published in 1992. Besides writing and following baseball, my favorite activities include reading (especially James Joyce), watching films (especially from the 1950s), and listening to music (especially jazz from 1927-1963). I also find plenty of time to be with my grandchildren. My retirement date officially takes effect on February 1, 2015. That is when my newest passion, tutoring young people, becomes the working focus of my life.
