About Me

I am a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. I received my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health with a minor in Urban and Regional Planning. Since graduation, I worked as an elementary school teacher in Detroit, Michigan as a 2012 Teach for America Corps member, I am most passionate about English, Math and Reading. I am currently a founding kindergarten teacher at KIPP Columbus Elementary where I have the honor to work with talented students everyday. In my experience working with elementary students I have seen tremendous growth in the area of reading and math because I work hard to bring these two subjects to life so students can reach their fullest potential. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading that which enriches my life, as well as spending time with friends and family.
