About Me

I believe true education is collaborative and experiential. Some things we can learn on our own by doing, but others require seeing an issue from a different perspective for real understanding. My approach to tutoring is not to batter students with information for rote memorization but rather to guide them to solve their own problems through a deeper understanding of the issues at hand. Although no approach can be purely non-directive, it is my goal to only guide as much as I need to in order to help the student understand the problem and make the appropriate adjustment. I feel the measure of my success is the extent to which a student's comprehension has increased with as little direct instruction from me as possible.
