Julie

I'm a Special Education teacher/Learning Specialist who works with students who have various types of learning disabilities and communication disorders, such as Autism, ADHD etc. I am responsible for evaluating students to determine eligibility for special education and creating Individual Education Plans. I work in a resource room teaching small groups to help students reach their goals in math, reading, and writing. I also support the general education teacher to help students with learning challenges to be more successful in their classroom. I graduated from University of Oregon with my undergraduate degree in Sociology and Psychology. I then went to Pacific University for my Masters in Teaching with a Special Education endorsement. I've taught for 10 years now, and I love working with a diverse population of students from all income levels, backgrounds, and cultures. My strengths are patience, a great sense of humor, making accommodations for students to be as successful as possible in any academic area, and open and consistent communication with parents. I'm also very responsible, committed, hard working, and punctual. I look forward to tutoring your child and help them become more confident in their learning!
