I am a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University where I earned a Master of Arts in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. I began working as a writing tutor during the final year of my Master's program. My experience is in tutoring college and high school students in academic and creative writing. I have also tutored ESOL students in writing and English grammar and mechanics. I always enjoy tutoring students in creative writing, specifically fiction writing, because not only was this my major in college, but I also have an ambition to publish my own writing and have personally benefited from workshops and constructive criticism. I believe that the purpose of tutoring is to help students to become confident and self-sufficient writers, and that after tutoring a student should be able to identify certain patterns in their own writing and correct their own mistakes. I do not just proofread or edit papers for a student, but I will help a student to learn how to proofread and edit their own paper. Writing is hard work, but it is also satisfying work. Writing is my great passion, and I have transformed it from a hobby into a career of choice. I love participating in activities that spark my imagination. Some of my favorites are writing, reading, hiking, swimming, and traveling.
