About Me

I recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from the State University of New York at New Paltz with a Bachelors of Arts in Adolescence Education: French. To further expand my teaching certifications, I am also pursuing a Master of Science in Education degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. My prior tutoring experiences in French (levels 1 through AP), essay writing and study skills gave me the tools to effectively communicate concepts, organize time and ensure student understanding while incorporating students' specific interests. In addition, student teaching at the middle school and high school level has further strengthened my understanding the individualized support students need to succeed. These past experiences also granted me the opportunity to work with gifted learners and students with various learning capabilities and learning styles. Helping a student make connections in a language (whether it be a second language like French or connections in written English) is an extremely rewarding experience. Overall, a student's ultimate pride in his or her understanding a challenging concept is the most rewarding. In my spare time, I enjoy reading novels, graphic novels and comics, practicing yoga, watching soccer, trying new cuisine and learning new languages.
