About Me

I am a graduate from The University of Alabama where I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a minor in Psychology. Until very recently, I have been working as a lead elementary school teacher in Atlanta, GA. During this time, I enjoyed teaching both fifth and second grades. I was responsible for teaching and planning all subjects. Before and after school, I had the opportunity to tutor students individually. The experience of seeing academic and emotional progress in a child is remarkable and very rewarding. In August 2013, my husband was accepted a wonderful career opportunity in Miami. I gladly joined him at the beginning of December. While it was very hard leaving my classroom behind, I am very excited about starting a life here in Miami, and I know I will have a positive and memorable impact on children. My passion lies in the world of education. I am fascinated and determined to find ways to better myself as an educator, and I always provide a positive and welcoming learning environment for students. My organizational skills, patience, creativity and flexibility will help me to be an asset to any child I can assist. When I am not teaching or tutoring, I am spending time with my husband and dog, Townes, designing floral arrangements, cooking, doing yoga, reading, or I am at the beach.
