I have a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston where I majored in Marketing and Spanish for Business Professionals. I was born and raised in Colombia until the age of fifteen, making Spanish my native language. I became a Spanish tutor while attending college and continued teaching it through graduate school. I have tutored children and adults from many backgrounds and with different needs and objectives for learning Spanish. I feel passionate about teaching it because it brings me joy and gratification seeing my students communicate with confidence in a new language and opening new opportunities. I am a big advocate of learning and not memorizing. My objective is to allow students to speak, write, and read Spanish without having to translate words in their minds. The goal is to acquire a natural flow of the language. This can be accomplished with practice and determination coming from the student and myself. It is a team effort! In my spare time, I enjoy outdoor sports such as running, swimming, and biking. I also love dining and having good conversations with friends and family over coffee or wine.
