Elizabeth
- First of all, and most importantly, I have to say that I love teaching.
- As you may have gathered, I also just love languages.
About Me
I am currently studying at the University of Georgia to be an English as a Second Language teacher and I can not imagine doing anything else. I have experience as a volunteer ESL tutor and I have also done some informal tutoring with friends and family, as well as several job shadows of ESL teachers working at an English language institute in Bogota, Colombia. I have been studying Spanish for 4 years and Portuguese for a year and a half. I have also studied linguistics and the mechanics of language acquisition, which means that I am much better prepared to help you or your child develop strong skills in these languages. My first language is English, so I would also love to help you or your child with any issues involving English reading or writing skills, as well as SAT preparation, essay writing/proofreading, grammar and mechanics. I have been taking college level English courses since I was 15, and received two perfect scores on the SAT's Critical Reading and Writing Sections. I pride myself on being able to offer very clear explanations of complex concepts and ideas. I consider myself to be very well organized and prepared as well.
