I am especially passionate about reading, writing, and foreign languages. I hope to share my passion for knowledge with those around me.

Every Logical Reasoning stimulus contains a gap between its premises and conclusion — finding that gap quickly is what separates a 160 from a 170. Bryan dissects each question type (sufficient assumption, flaw, strengthen, weaken) with precise attention to conditional logic and argument structure, drawing on the analytical rigor of his Dartmouth Government coursework and his own preparation for Stanford Law.
I am a dedicated, highly motivated individual with a passion for enhancing the learning experiences of others. I have taught as a classroom teacher and as a volunteer at state and national parks for the past few years. I focus particularly on highlighting connections between various subject matter to individuals' everyday lives. After I graduated with my Masters degree from Johns Hopkins University in 2014, I moved to New Mexico to pursue a career in environmental conservation. I currently work as a supervisor for an AmeriCorps program that provides opportunities for young adults to gain skills working in the field of conservation while also receiving training for personal and professional development. I aspire to become a ranger with the National Park Service and a freelance writer.
I am a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at Duke University. My job requires excellent mathematics, analytic, and writing skills, which are also my favorite subjects to teach. I have experience teaching kids in elementary, middle, and high school, as well as college-aged students. My particular expertise is in managing attention and assisting with executive functioning (e.g., time management and planning).
I am a graduate of Oberlin College, where I attained two Bachelor's degrees in English and Ancient Latin Language and Literature. I am a licensed teacher with a diversity of experience working with young people. For the past 10 years, I have tutored students of all ages and in a variety of subjects, with a strong focus on K-12 mathematics. I am pursuing a Master's degree in Elementary Education and a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification. I am extremely passionate about teaching and work daily to improve my craft. Students, parents, supervisors, and colleagues have described me as efficient, extremely patient, creative, and caring.
I'm currently pursuing my PhD at UNM, also in Economics. Learning is a passion for me, and I try to inspire it in others with my tutoring!
I am currently a college student studying nursing. I have tutored students since 8th grade and I am thrilled to be able to help students who, like me, sometimes don't understand all the complicated stuff school throws at you! It doesn't annoy me at all if you don't get it the first (or second, or third) time because then we are challenged to find new ways of understanding the subject and, yes, I think that is fun!
I'm a huge Red Sox fan and love watching detective shows when I have free time.
I am happy to accommodate and work with learners on the spectrum.
I am proud to be a part of Varsity Tutors! I am originally from San Antonio, TX; I completed my undergraduate education at Rice University in Houston where I received a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Currently, I am in my second year of medical school at Baylor College of Medicine.
I am a second year law student at the University of Chicago who hails from the San Francisco Bay Area! I tutor the SAT, ESL, and Spanish. I was an AVID tutor in high school, and after college I taught an ESL class and tutored a high school student in Spanish. In law school, I am involved with the Lawyers in the Classroom program. My tutoring philosophy is based on listening to students work through problems and helping them to spot their confusions or incorrect assumptions. I believe students learn much better when they aren't simply told the right answer or right reasoning; they need to get there on their own.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Logical Reasoning section makes up half of your LSAT score (two of four scored sections), so mastering it is critical for law school admission. This section tests your ability to analyze arguments, identify logical flaws, and evaluate evidence—skills essential for legal thinking. Each Logical Reasoning section contains 24-26 questions you'll have 35 minutes to complete, requiring both accuracy and efficient pacing.
Most students struggle with three key areas: understanding the underlying argument structure before jumping to answer choices, distinguishing between similar answer options that seem correct, and managing the time pressure of 35 minutes for 24-26 questions. Additionally, many test-takers find it difficult to identify what the question is actually asking—whether it wants you to strengthen, weaken, find an assumption, or spot a flaw. Personalized tutoring helps you develop systematic strategies to tackle each question type with confidence.
Score improvement depends on your starting point and commitment level, but students typically see 5-10 point increases on the LSAT (out of 180) after focused Logical Reasoning work. The key is identifying your specific weak areas—whether that's flaw questions, strengthen/weaken questions, or conditional reasoning—and building targeted skills. With consistent practice and expert guidance on strategy, many students dramatically improve their accuracy and speed on this section.
Your first session typically focuses on assessment and strategy. A tutor will review your diagnostic test results or have you complete a practice Logical Reasoning section to identify patterns in your mistakes—whether you're missing questions due to timing, misunderstanding argument structure, or choosing trap answers. From there, you'll develop a personalized study plan targeting your specific weaknesses and learn the foundational frameworks for breaking down arguments efficiently.
Practice tests are essential—they build the stamina and pacing skills you need for test day while revealing your specific weak question types. Most LSAT prep experts recommend completing full practice tests under timed conditions, then reviewing every single question you missed or found difficult. Tutors can help you analyze your practice test performance strategically, focusing your study time on the question types that cost you the most points rather than drilling everything equally.
Effective pacing comes from two skills: quickly identifying question type and difficulty level, then allocating your time accordingly. Rather than spending equal time on every question, strong test-takers tackle easier questions quickly and invest more time in harder ones. A tutor can teach you to recognize patterns in question difficulty, develop a pre-reading strategy that saves time, and practice triage techniques so you're not stuck on one question while easier ones remain unanswered.
Varsity Tutors connects you with tutors who have deep expertise in LSAT Logical Reasoning and understand the specific strategies that move scores. We consider your current performance level, your target score, your learning style, and your timeline to law school applications. You'll work with someone experienced in teaching argument analysis and test-taking strategy, ensuring you get instruction tailored to your needs rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Test anxiety often stems from uncertainty—not knowing whether you're approaching questions correctly or whether you'll finish in time. Tutoring builds confidence through mastery: as you develop reliable strategies for each question type and practice under timed conditions repeatedly, the section becomes less intimidating. Tutors also teach you how to manage pacing pressure, recognize when to move on from a difficult question, and maintain focus during the full test experience.
