How can Physical Chemistry tutoring help you?

Physical chemistry is usually one of the first chemistry courses a student takes, and it is often one of the most confusing. Students are thrust into a world made up of particles they may not even see and are expected to learn how these particles work and why. Students are expected to learn what makes isotopes different and how catalysts work to speed up a reaction. With this branch of science being so different from other branches you've learned about in prior educational years, it is easy to get lost in the new concepts and terminology. The educational directors at Varsity Tutors may connect you with tutors in Austin, TX, who are skilled at helping students prepare for physical chemistry.

There are many benefits to tutoring. With a personal tutor, you may be able to get one-on-one feedback and assistance in a personalized environment, rather than struggling to keep pace with a class that may be moving too fast or too slowly. Your questions may get answered in real-time, before they grow and become problem points later in the course. In addition, you could learn the material deeper and in ways that align with your preferred learning style, making it easier for you to remember for later chemistry courses or your future career. Tutoring might increase your grades tremendously, and may increase your performance on standardized tests, including the STAAR. If you are seeking physical chemistry tutors near Austin, TX, Varsity Tutors may help you connect with a tutor who may meet your needs.

The student and I had our last session today.  We went through her PreCalculus packet, most of which she had already finished.  Our primary focus was on Chapter 5, which was trig identities, simplifying expressions, and solving for theta.  We also talked about the graphs of the trig functions as well as what should go on her index card that she gets to take into the exam with her.

Physical Chemistry Tutoring review by Travis in Austin, TX
The student and I reviewed conic sections for his quiz tomorrow. We focused on parabolas, ellipses, and hyperbolas, which are a little more difficult. He had difficulty at first choosing the correct equation to represent a conic section, given specific information about the vertices and foci, but he improved during the session. He will understand much more after he has a chance to memorize the formulas.

Physical Chemistry Tutoring review by Ben in Austin, TX
Continued on concepts of state functions and the assumptions involved in problem solving. We discussed the idea that these calculations are all approximations, and that is why we are making all sorts of assumptions. As the class progresses the approximations will get better, and also more complicated.
