ISEE Tutoring review by Abbi in Miami, FL
We reviewed the crossword puzzle vocabulary, and we discussed some of the words that he didn't know. Then we spoke about the essay he wrote, which overall was good but I gave him tips on how to expand the essay to include details. He also may need to take a little extra time to review spelling, punctuation, and capitalizing. Then we reviewed the reading comprehension strategies and he did practice set A. The last part we did was practice more vocabulary by doing the practice set B together.

We worked in ten minute sections, grappling with questions, followed by reviewing concepts together. The student and I focused on reviewing multiplication skills. We focused on two and three digit multiplication facts, and practiced finding patterns in multiplication tables.

ISEE Tutoring review by Miranda in Miami, FL
First we spent some time working on reducing fractions (she was doing her math homework, but it's very applicable to her level exam) and converting simple fractions to decimals. She seems to struggle more with decimals to percentages to fractions, although I think the concrete example of pieces of pie helped. Her reading comprehension is good. When I read the words to her, she understands.

ISEE Tutoring review by Alysa in Miami, FL
The student worked on reading comprehension last week. We started this week by reviewing her work. Overall she did well. I reminded her to code the passages while reading to help her with answering the question. We reviewed her math and she worked on ratio, proportions, averages, and word problems. She has some math practice to do before the next session. We still have to work through verbal reasoning and more practice exams. Overall she is doing very well and retaining new concepts!
